The name, Tornabuoni 1927, directly refers to an important place and date in the history of the luxury house. Indeed, Tornabuoni is a nod to the Spini-Feroni Palace (Palazzo Spini Feroni), an ancient fortified citadel built over seven hundred years ago and since 1938 has served as the seat of the House of Salvatore Ferragamo. As for 1927, the year marks the return of the designer to Italy after he, son of Italian peasants and former apprentice shoemaker, left for the United States to make his fortune and after having put on the greatest celebrities of the time, including Marilyn Monroe, Greta Garbo and Audrey Hepburn.
The Tornabuoni 1927 line is very complete. In addition to the Small Leather Goods which includes among other things a wallet and a card holder, it also includes the Large Leather Goods collection, itself available in three themes: ultra supple and light deer leather bags bearing the Tornabuoni 1927 logo, bags nylon with 3D rubber logo as well as accessories still in nylon but with a printed logo.
